Maroon is a rich, deep burgundy color at cone 05/06. At cone 5/6 it deepens and at cone 10 it begins to burn out. A clear glaze will deepen the color significantly at cone 05/06, intensify and accentuate the color at cone 5/6 and burn out the color at cone 10.
Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.
