Raku Day 2020 Cancelled due to COVID Restrictions
Join us for a day of Food, Fun & Fire sponsored by The Independent Potters' Association! Held every year, the Saturday before Thanksgiving, we start firing at 9 AM and finish at 2 PM. Last call for pot purchase is at 1:30 PM. Admission is $10.00 per pot you wish to fire, with a limit of 3 pots per person. We will have pots for purchase at the door and fun glazes to choose from.
Clayscapes will provide paper products and drinks, but we ask that you bring a dish to pass if possible.
There will be door prizes and raffle tickets available. Be sure not to miss this great event!
*Please leave your 4 legged companions at home unless you need them for medical reasons.
Raku firing is a process by which pottery is fired at a relatively low temperature and then moved, while hot, to a closed container with combustible materials, (such as paper or sawdust) that ignite and cause a reaction creating colors and patterns on the pottery's surface.
